Our mission at Fighting Cancer Today is to help families heal emotionally & financially from the hospital. This mission is fulfilled with empathy and compassion for both the patient and the caregiver as we meet the essential non-medical needs of patients and their caregivers, ensuring that they receive the necessary support at a time when they need it most. Our mission is upheld by our wonderful team of directors and volunteers who have all been affected by cancer personally in their roles as patients, survivors and caregivers. As a team we've identified ways to help families thrive while fighting cancer and this guides our entire organization.
Our organization is led by a team of cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. Through our experiences and the shared experiences of others, we saw the need for additional support after leaving the cancer treatment center for both the patient and the caregiver. We saw the importance of supporting the entire community of the cancer patient. Fighting Cancer Today was created to bridge the gap between the treatment that a patient receives versus the care that is need when they arrive home.
